The Stone in every Farmers Shoe
“Farmers (like so many small business people), busy growing and selling grain are not finding the time to work on their off farm plan is a reality of rural life in 2015” says financial adviser at FinSec Partners Andrew Creaser.
Whilst it’s imperative that farmers achieve strategic tax advice, a study has revealed that the overwhelming majority (76%) said it was the achievement of core goals and lifestyle objectives that really define financial success.
However, when asked whether they were on track to achieving their goals, 60% of those surveyed either didn’t know or were unable to answer.
“The traditional role of advisers is to manage and administer a client’s insurance, investments and superannuation but this is no longer the case, to deliver real value we must deliver to the client’s measure of success” says Andrew.
“We live in a world of information overload and so it has become increasingly important to have experts that properly understands your situation and your needs – A trusted financial team ultimately becomes the CFO of your life”.
With this in mind Rabo Bank, Peter Hayes & Associates, FinSec Partners and Duncan Basheer Hannon have joined forces to create a team with specific expertise in the issues unique to rural life and selling grain. Together they have designed a seminar series titled ‘clear out the head shed’ that delivers knowledge and clarity around the ‘off farm plan’.
“This is a seminar for the time poor farmer that is great at growing grain but can never quite find the time get on top of the off farm ‘to do’ list” explains Peter Hayes.
The group will be touring the Eyre Penninsula through February and Yorke Penninsula in March .
